this might be a stupid question, but im asking anyways. Wont all that exhaust pipe around the radiator be bad? keep temps a little higher?

Actually Stainless steel retains and traps heat very well. It works almost like a header wrap. The pipe is out front in the colder air and will cool which is actuallyy a little bad because you want to keep as mch heat energy in the xhaust as possible for a turbo system that heat energy as it expands is what helps drive the turbine side of the turbocharger and makes more power.

My car ran in the 9's with mild steel headers that didnt trap nearly the amount of heat these will.

I think that was a good question.

Onmy car I will be adding a chin spiler of some type to both help retain heat and to stabilize the car at higher speeds. alot of air can get under a car at 145 MPH.LOL

At this point they have not been tested on second gens yet. They will be in the future but we have been concentrating on the 67 thru 69 platform simply because that is what I had available to me.

I have got to get it back together first.

I was hoping it would be back together and done by now to be honest but I have another kid on the way, Im building a 17,000 Sq ft building for a company in Bristol, building a convertible 69 bird, and just of ton of other things trying to keep me from racing.LOL

Have you seen the car go at the valley?

It looks like 12 second car at best before you see it go doesnt it?

I bought Gen 7 DFI for it and am trying to decide if I am gonna spend all the money right now to run it or go back carb'd for awhile.

I have really been concentratng on getting these headers done and getting going with them before the building was in full swing.

I told alot of people I was going to do this and When I say I am going to get something done I do my best to get it done.

I cant wait to run something again.

I was just out riding my CR500 cause I am selling it, and I miss the power!

Hmmm...I bet that would fit nicely in my '73 Ventura since it uses the same subframe as a first gen bird.

I am in Southeast Mass, 20 minutes south of Boston. Simsbury looks like a couple of hours from here . Married life makes it almost impossible for me to take car related trips that long However, if you are planning to venture up this way at all, let me know, and I'll be glad to hook up with you.

I'd like to help you out if at all possible... It is one of my long term projects to turbocharge my T/A, and whip the azz of my 9 second turbo DSM

My buddy has a 2nd gen local to me with the engine out so I am going to stop by this week with the headers and drop them in the engine bay. see if its a definate NO FIT situation or not.

if it looks good we may bolt a block and heads in soon and see how they work out.

If the first gen headers sell OK I will definately be doing a 2nd gen set up one way or another.
