I thought the holes were there to prevent vacuum from pulling the butterflies open in high vacuum situations where the carbs are closed.

When we restored the 64 we got a new tank, I think it was a Spectra. It fit great but didn't come with a filler neck. I had to transfer the filler neck from my original.

The OEM linkage is crap. Those slip fit fittings on the 1-2 and 3-4 rods WILL slip at some point. The Hurst replacement rods (like standard Comp/+ rods) are the way to go.

All that was set when the rear was professionally built. But no, I haven't checked it. I believe the shop who installed the last two seals did check the runout, not sure about the preload.
