Just zip tie around the center of the plates a few times and not the individual springs. Makes it easier to get the ties back out after you cut them.

Compress the two halves with the springs installed in a vise and then zip tie them together. Slide it in the carrior and then cut the ties. Its a little tricky but its about the easiest way. It takes...

1968, 15 heads are 75cc. 1970, 15 heads from a 455 are 87cc. So yeah you have about 10 to 1 compression. Change the cam for sure.

They are unsafe if you drop off a steep shoulder on the road. They will contact the road and could cause a wreck. That being said, they sure had a good old school look, back in the day.
