Found out my 72' straight 6 has POSI

Didn't really expect it. I lifted up the rear end and spun one of the wheels. Surely enough the other side spun as well. Who would have known....

Now I have heard when it's modified it can be stronger than the TH series. I currently have a stock 3-speed powerglide in the car. I'm not sure how strong it is stock, can it handle a stock 400ci...

The one's that i have looked up all come without an adapter. My old one broke so my question is...where can i find the adapter for the plug?

Left: broken One, Right: New one without the adapter...

I have a six cylinder engine in the ventura right now. I'm looking at a 400ci engine, where could i get the right motor mounts? or could i use the mounts that the six already has?

so far i've replaced them with new air shocks....

so far i've replaced them with new air shocks. seems to be working fine, for now.

but i want to replace the leaf springs in the future. the only problem is i can only find multi-leaf springs...

I think these cars weigh just under 3200, 3161lbs to be exact. Well, at least for the 71-72 models. I have the 72 :). Pretty light compared to a full-size car of that era.

So i decided to change the rear shocks

my old ones were air and one of them popped a few days ago while i was out riding. so i went out today and bought NAPA gas shocks. i installed them both and realized the height dropped tremendously...

yeah, i think put in the springs the wrong way. it still had a gap on the bottom. i compared with the one i worked on and the one my mechanic worked on, theirs were a inch shorter. :doh:

Ok, so now both of them are installed and these spicer springs have raised the front of the car by almost 2 inches. I really hope they break in and settle a bit.

i'm sure i installed it right, it doesn't seem to have any gap on the bottom. it's a lot of work compared to some of the other struts i've installed. ...

coils are a PIA

has anybody ever changed these on their own? compared to some of the springs i am used to seeing, they are huge! i can't seem to compress them with my DIY spring compressor. should i take this job...
