Thanks yep its the original 59 4 speed automatic, i think your correct as it doesnt look like a normal torque converter, i will check the manual tonight i have an original workshop manual for it.

Howdy, have rebuilt my tripower catalina engine 389, what temp should it be running at once it's warmed up? I'm running an electric fan and want to set it up to switch on at the right temperature.
