Thanks to all who posted and texted today. We had a water leak early due to bolts that were too long on the motor plate causing a water leak. On warm up it caught the rear of the rear main against the fillet adjacent to the oil deflector. with the bearings I ran last year there was no issue. this year i changed bearing mfr acd it was an issue. The crank is already polished and ready for reassembly. i only need to replace the rear main bearing and we are up and running.

At least you got it figured out and no harm done. Apparently none of the water leak back into the oil pan? Are you going to be on the same schedule Tuesday as you were yesterday?

Building engines is awesome...... (cough)...
In a perfect world the crank woulda rubbed on that corner for a little bit, self clearanced, the oil flow would have washed the debris away from the bearing and down into the pan, and into the filter and with the first oil change when you cut the filter you woulda seen a little debris, not given it a second thought and today you would be all smiles. But........
