I have two sets of these heads. They are good quality castings. A basic copy of a RAIV is what I would call them. The chambers suck. The valve positions suck for a big bore, big valve. Their ability to increase CSA sucks. The LS3 heads on my GTO KILL compared to an out of the box Ehead.

Marcella doing the work to Leech's heads and delivering their numbers speak TON's to their ability. They have polished a turd to the MAX, well done guys. I can only assume max welding and intake ports encroaching into valve covers?

Nope. No welding no guides moved just ported. Pretty straightforward stuff. Only welding I've done on those Heads is when Mike decides to disassemble the motor the fast way.

You could say that it started then, but I'd say it first proved itself in 1957 at the NASCAR Daytona SpeedWeek- finishing 1st/2nd/3rd in class through the flying mile, 1st/2nd in class in the standing start mile, and 1st in the GN race.

As long as we are on the subject, what head is better for a reliable 600-700HP street/strip car, the Edelbrock or KRE's if they are both flowing close to the same CFM? Is one easier to buy at a medium level and then step up later with additional port work and cam change.

Are you talking about the dports or rpms vs Hiports? If you are referring to d ports. The Kre version is superior than the edelbrocks...not sure on the other..

100% stock locations other than pushrod holes. Hell they still have the factory iron seats in all but 3 spots. Poor number 3

Most any of the available casting (Edel, HP, CV1, RAV, even KRE Dports) can get you there pretty easily. What is more important is what vendor is setting them up. Also at that HP levels there are deals to be had by buying them used.

Why do you feel the KRE d's are superior to Edelbrocks d-port?

I would say the D ports are more in line with my budget as long as I could get the 455 into a 600-700 HP range and still have the option of stretching them out some down the road as far as streetable flow. From my limited understanding having a crazy high flowing head is not necessarily the best head to run on the street with a gear like a 3.55 and a mild 3000 stall converter. Power in the mid range seems to me to be as or more important for a car that will be mostly a street car but also raced some on the weekends.

I don't know any Pontiac's with "RPM street heads" that run 9.90s on pump gas at 3800 lbs.
The Brodix is a 270 oval - out of the box.

Sorry you didn't get the memo. Off the top of my head there is one in Kansas that goes 9.80's with RPM's.

BTW. ... Brodix makes more than one head for a BBC.

I would be very curious to see some specs on the Pont.
Suspect car is light or running race fuel, SS trim etc.

Yup, Brodix makes a big pile of different heads for BBC.

The Chevelle is 3680 lbs with driver not 3800 as I believed.
505 with 10.5 compression
UDHarold 255/263 @ .050 solid roller.
Brodix race-rite oval.
RPM intake.

http://www.dragtimes.com/Chevrolet-C...slip-5251.html

The selection of heads available is what kills many, they decide to bolt a massive port on. Then they are stuck running 11s. LMAO.

X3 , without E heads I believe we would not have anything close to what is available for us today. The second best thing were aftermarket blocks.
