I put the ‘62 outside and parked the Catalina by the door. My HVAC guy is supposed to start tomorrow putting a furnace and central air in my garage, over the washroom. That area was where I stashed all my extra parts, heads, intakes, a spare Endurance front end, ect. I had my son come over to help, so I wouldn’t be up and down the ladder a hundred times.

Took the 66 Starchief for my daily check on my Mom. Got back after dark.

I got my 66 GTO Vert Front End aligned - it drove fine BUT the settings were way off - figured with new tires why not !

Yup I've got one. Just nervous having never done this before. I've done most everything else on a car but this.

I did mine a few years ago as a spry 67 YO. Pull the shock and loop a safety chain thru the center of the spring and bolt it together at the ends leaving enough slack for the spring to relax. Just a little peace of mind and an additional layer of safety.
Watch a few YT videos and have at it. Don't forget to take a leak before you start bc it may pop out a little at the very end.

I'm pretty healthy for getting close to 74 Years, but spry (and confidant) maybe not so much. Got a chain ready, have watched videos, will certainly take the bathroom break before peceding lol. I have learned to be respectful and cautious in my advanced years, so here we go.

Well, not "today" but a few days ago...
Wife and I were out for dinner in Newark NY (just 6 miles from home) with the '26 Pontiac. Stopped for a photo at a long-gone Pontiac dealership- I don't know just when they closed. Some recent building renovations uncovered the sign. Although I've lived here since I started driving in 1956, I don't remember this dealership.

I've messed around with spring compressors to lower four of my vehicles now. If you're smart and careful, it's not a big deal. The first time is admittedly a little scary though.

I see you're near Sioux Falls. I live in Sioux Falls if you need a young(er) and slightly more confident helper.

Cole had the day off work and decided to install a new Ventura emblem on the passenger fender which required removal of said fender. I can tell already that this project is going to snowball. Especially since we're expecting a call from the upholsterer any day to take his seats in. We discovered some ugly old body work behind the lower part of the fender. Not really a surprise, just another thing to put on the list to fix.

The car has been lightly hit in the rear more than once and repaired. I found the right side filler piece soldered to the quarter panel and the left side filler brazed to the tail panel. I still have several hours ahead dealing with the brazed side hoping to be able to save what's left of the filler piece.

So going back right would be nice but shy of a full replacement of the rear I may just have to accept better.

Well thanks for the offer! But I'm committed now to get this done on my own, as I usually do with most everything else I do, with mixed results of course.
