Strongly recommend using same size line for return, especially if you're using a larger pump. You could have an issue where the line won't return enough and you can't get the psi low enough.
I have a 13301 new regulator for sale at the moment: https://forums.maxperformanceinc.com...d.php?t=882342 Nice thing on those is that you can simply replace the spring and it will work with EFI too. Regulators should be as close to the 'load' to maintain psi best. 1/2" hardline routes easier than AN -8 or even -6. With 'soft' lines in long runs, it is possible to induce pulsing of the fuel. You will know if you see the needle on the gauge fluttering. .
