My trick is an angle grinder and cup brush.
Contain the lead dust and use PPE.
The cup brush will remove all lead except the final film needed to "tin".

67 4 bbl head CC is 47.7
68 4 bbl head CC is 55

so its gonna bump compression by 7.3CC

68-9 used multi leaf springs,staggered shocks
67 used mono leaf
67 also used radius rods(like traction bars)
69 had flat spots on tubes for jounce bushings...

If your confidence level is low,go to a new car dealer and ask who does their touch ups.
Dealers have mobile business service them for things like touch up or upholstery repairs etc.
