The round grounding plate in Cammer's photo is the correct one, the reproduction rear antenna grounding plate is the wrong size (much larger).

If the edges leading into the door jambs, trunk jamb and hood jambs do not have dry spray/ and you can't find over spray on any rubber, glass,door handle gaskets etc, and it is checked like you say...

Other GM cars started getting Tire pressure decals in the Door Jamb beginning in 69 so maybe this was how it was supposed to be but since the 68's had them in the Glove box the assembly line workers...

1.The rear springs are wrong... they have the holes through them where the spring liner retainers come through... the original springs have dimples there... this is a common error that will be caught...

Usually the inners have the grease fitting on the end of the casting and the outers have the grease fitting in the metal plate on the bottom directly below the stud and castle nut.

The reason for the 10 bolt corporate vs the 12 bolt Eaton question was because the 12 bolts came from Eaton painted Black already... so if 69 T/A's had a 12 bolt then the rear of the car in question...

The flat spot is for hte bolt to pass through... you need to remove the bolt entirely like the post above states... if it still won't go.. then you have the wrong one!

I have had them for 2 years and have never had a problem... just take a pair of channel locks and squeeze the spring and then push down on the lug... it is very snug and works great.

The ghost image/outline is from the ink oozing out the side of the stamp when it hit the head... then the center paint was thinner and wore off over the years...

Many times there were differences in finishes for parts destined for the assembly line vs parts destined for Over The Counter Sales... An assembly line worker could care less about some surface rust...
