If the edges leading into the door jambs, trunk jamb and hood jambs do not have dry spray/ and you can't find over spray on any rubber, glass,door handle gaskets etc, and it is checked like you say...

Other GM cars started getting Tire pressure decals in the Door Jamb beginning in 69 so maybe this was how it was supposed to be but since the 68's had them in the Glove box the assembly line workers...

The reason for the 10 bolt corporate vs the 12 bolt Eaton question was because the 12 bolts came from Eaton painted Black already... so if 69 T/A's had a 12 bolt then the rear of the car in question...

I have had them for 2 years and have never had a problem... just take a pair of channel locks and squeeze the spring and then push down on the lug... it is very snug and works great.

Many times there were differences in finishes for parts destined for the assembly line vs parts destined for Over The Counter Sales... An assembly line worker could care less about some surface rust...
